The Detroit Tigers and the Pittsburgh Pirates battled Wednesday afternoon in Lakeland, Florida. The game would eventually end in a 6-6 tie after 9 innings. This is the same exact result Detroit had in their first Spring training game last Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The game started with Eduardo Rodriguez making his second appearance of Spring training as well as his second appearance wearing a Tigers uniform. E- Rod was also a part of the 6-6 tie last Friday. The start of the afternoon did not go initially the way Rodriguez and the Tigers wanted. Rodriguez would give up a solo shot to Hoy Park of the Pirates in the top of the 1st inning, However, that would be the only run E-Rod would give up. Rodriguez pitched a solid 4 innings, only giving up 2 hits while having 5 strikeouts.

The Tigers would tie the game back up right away in the bottom of the 1st inning due to an RBI groundout created by another new Tiger, Javier Baez.
