If you live in Ohio, there is a good chance you are upset with how the Buckeyes handled themselves against the Wolverines on Saturday. Despite the tough loss in the greatest rivalry in sports, if you live in the mid-west, not all hope is lost. Three Midwest Athletic Conference(MAC) football teams have made it to their own state championships.

In the 5th Division, we got to see the Versailles Tigers beat Harvest Prep in a tough battle with the Tigers winning 28-22. Next Saturday, Versailles will be traveling to Canton to take on number one ranked Kirkland. This is the first time Versailles has been in a state title game since 2004. For Kirkland, this will be their fifth state title game in a row. Will we see a Cinderella story this year?

Next, in the 6th division, we seen the dominant Coldwater Cavaliers put up 5 scores in their 35-13 win against West-Jefferson. Here is a stat to consider when thinking about the Cavs dominance; since the new century began (2000), there has been a total of 328 possible high school football games. Coldwater have only missed 20 games, meaning they have played in 308 of those games and only losing 40. The Cavaliers will take on Carey High School next week for a shot at the state title.

In the final division of Ohio, we seen another dominant MAC school run the show in the state semi-finals. Marion Local, the number one ranked team in the state, in their division, had everything clicking in their win against Hopewell-Loudon. Marion will take on third ranked Newark Catholic next Saturday for their shot at another state championship.
