The day baseball fans have been waiting for is finally here. Tonight, the Mets will open up the 2022 season in Washington DC against the Nationals. Tonight’s game was supposed to start at 4:05pm, but got pushed back to 7:05pm due to the weather. The two teams met 19 times last season, with the Mets winning 11 of the 19 games.

Tylor Megill was named the Mets’ opening day starter yesterday. This is his first career opening day start. Megill made his major league debut last season and made 18 starts. In those 18 starts, Megill had a 4-6 record and a 4.52 ERA. It was rough for Megill at the end of the season last year. He didn’t pitch well in his last few starts.
