Saturday 11/13 the Penguins traveled to Ottawa to face the rebuilding Senators. There was no Matt Murray and no Tristan Jarry between the pipes for either team. Former penguin prospect Filip Gustavsson started in goal for the Senators and Casey DeSmith for the Pens. Ottawa jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first period and dominated the Penguins. They added another goal in the second period from Drake Batherson to take a commanding 5-0 lead before the Penguins best line the last few games started off the comeback attempt. Kasperi Kapanen scored then red hot Evan Rodrigues netted two straight goals to cut the lead to 5-3. Batherson then added a late goal to get the win for the Senators.
FINAL SCORE 6-3 Senators.
Coming off a gut wrenching loss in Ottawa the Penguins then traveled to Washington. The good news for this game was that they had their captain Sidney Crosby and defenseman Brian Dumoulin back in the lineup. Tristian Jarry was back in net after being given rest for the Ottawa game. The Penguins came out flat and never really got going in the game. The red hot second line of Zucker-Rodrigues-Kapanen was no more as Jeff Carter moved down to second line center and Rodrigues was moved to third line winger with Blueger at center and Heinen at the other wing. That move doesn’t seem like the right call when you have Rodrigues playing so well at center. It was some former Penguins Daniel Sprong and Conor Sheary who scored on their former team.
FINAL SCORE 6-1 Capitols.

(Promo Code: 6A2841ERJC) The Yankees keep rolling. This team is on an absolute tear right now. This past weekend they finished up a four-game set in Chicago where they took three from the White Sox.
