Strong Win, Two Goals for Son (nearly three)
Tottenham looked well-rested and ready to score goals in their 3-1 win against the Hammers. It was enjoyable to watch the Spurs push forward and show the creativity that makes them a joy to watch. The front three were playing with confidence and kept West Ham in danger for much of the match.

A Win for Spurs, A New Record for Harry Kane
Brighton came out for the second half with energy and aggression, but on a counterattack from a Brighton corner, Kane broke through the back line as Rodrigo Bentancur played him through, and this time his left-footed strike was clinical, and the Tottenham lead was 2-0. With that goal, Kane set the record with the most away goals of any Premier League player at 95. Setting a record is impressive, but this record is especially notable in that Kane reached his record 95 goals in 104 fewer games than Wayne Rooney. Kane has actually scored more away goals than home goals during his time in the Premier League.

Headed to the Southern Coast
As mentioned earlier, the defense has been inconsistent, but it is in the midfield where Spurs can make the biggest improvements. Hojbjerg and Bentancur have been good at being competitive in the midfield, but Tottenham still seems reluctant to move the ball into the middle of the pitch, relying too heavily on runs up the side. To really open up a defense, Spurs have to draw opponents into the middle so passing lanes open up and the offense can rely on more than counter attacks and crosses. Brighton is a strong opponent that won’t just sit back in defense, so this should be an exciting game.

Not a Bad Game, But a Disappointing Ending
With a chance to solidify an opportunity to be in prime position for a top four finish, the Spurs came up short in disappointing fashion. Playing at Old Trafford against a team sporting some of the best players money can buy, a win was never going to be easy, and a draw would have been acceptable, but losing by giving up two easy goals was frustrating.

Every Game is Important, But This is a Big One
With a trip back to the Champions League on the line, Tottenham travels to Old Trafford on Saturday evening with a chance for three points and a move into fifth place. After a couple of frustrating seasons, including bombing out of the Europa Conference and losing to Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, Spurs could salvage this season if they can break into the top four. It won’t be easy, Arsenal have a three point advantage and a game in hand.
